Weno, Vedrick me recomendó el grupo, y la verdad es que me gusta mucho, sobre todo el último disco. En los primeros, la cantante es una tal Tarja Turunen, con un pedazo de voz que te cagas, soprano, y las canciones son una mezcla de power y gothic metal (sólo en algunas canciones), la mayoría son más power, pero claro, al ser la tía soprano, pues es power metal sinfónico. Y, sí, es plenamente escuchable, pero le faltaba un punto. Por eso me gusta más el último disco, que lo canta una nueva vocalista, Anette Olzon se llama; tiene una voz mucho más suave y mucho más "normal", digámoslo así. Pero las canciones son más duras (por lo menos de lo que yo escuché de otros discos), y me gusta más, será porque siempre me ha parecido que cuando la cantante tiene una voz muy sobresaliente, la mayoría de las canciones van destinadas a sacarle partido a la voz, quedando la música en un segundo plano, lo que para mi gusto les hace perder mucho a las canciones.
Ya iréis opinando según lo vayáis escuchando (o no, porque la mayoría de veces nadie contesta, pero weno). Aquí dejo dos canciones, una del último disco y que me encantó la primera vez que la escuché, y otra de la antigua vocalista, pero que os tiene que sonar, al menos los cultos que hayan visto o escuchado El Fantasma de la Opera.

Decadencia pura y dura lo de este grupo. Ahora hacen algo semjante al pop o al rock comercial y me cuesta escucharlo. Escuché un par de canciones del último disco y no pude más porque la voz chillona-popera de Annette es inaguantable cuando llevas años y años escuchando a la grandísima Tarja Turunen. Estaría bien que Annette hiciera algo a lo Celtic Woman o a lo The Corrs, pero... ¡¿Nightwish?! Me indignó muchísimo la salida de Tarja del grupo pero todavía me indignó aún más la entrada de Annette.
Yo aprendí a cantar lírico-lírico prácticamente con Tarja Turunen y la música que hacían con ella era mucho menos comercial y happy-poppy que con Olzon. Realmente la música del antiguo Nightwish recreaba mejor ambientes épicos, medievales y fantásicos que la actual música del grupo. Ahora ni tan siquiera sabría definir el estilo que hacen. Lo que sí que sé de buena tinta e imagino, a todas luces, es la diferencia entre un directo de Annette y otro de Tarja Turunen.
En fin, para gustos los colores, pero una voz es apreciable en cualquier lugar y la buena música, aunque no sea tan escuchable (aunque no sea tan comercial, para que nos entendamos), más.
